Virginia MOCA Boardwalk Art Show Announced for Weekend of October 22, 2021. Out of an abundance of caution regarding the pandemic and in consultation with the City of Virginia Beach, the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) will hold the 2021 Boardwalk Art Show October 22-24, 2021 rather than the traditional June timing.

Medium categories are used by MOCA as a tool for organizing artists' works into logical, related groups for the jury's review. While a balanced show that equitably showcases all types of fine art as well as diversity among media is a principal objective, we establish no quota or entitlement by media category.
Shifting Gaze: A Reconstruction of The Black & Hispanic Body in Contemporary Art presents a selection of works from Dr. Robert B. Feldman’s extensive collection of contemporary art. The 27 internationally regarded artists featured here create timely considerations into race and identity.
MOCA honored a Virginia Beach legend that has had a profound influence on the arts in our community, from providing instruction and support to artists across Hampton Roads, including Elizabeth Huey, to working to raise the funds that allowed MOCA to construct the building that it occupies today.
